COERR Mae Sot Organized Awareness Raising Campaign on Substance Abuse

   In April 2023, COERR Mae Sot organized youth anti-drug campaign to motivate youth to take part in social problem solution, to take the leading role in staying away from drugs, reducing or quitting drug uses. The action in April included marching campaign, painting campaign and dialogue with youth about drug abuse in three temporary shelters.

   During April 4-7, 2023, a marching campaign with slogan on “Drugs are plenty and deadly” was organized in which 200 youth of 113 males and 87 females held poster showing dangers of illegal drugs, ways to prevent, reduce and quit illegal drug use. The marching campaign was led by a group of student orchestra from Ban Umpiem School, Phop Phra District, Tak Province.

   On April 10, 2023, a painting competition was organized on the topic “Drugs can kill you and your loved ones”, at Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province. There were 104 youth of 39 females and 65 males participating in this event.

   Later, on April 28, 2023, a Dialogue with youth on “youth awareness in drug abuse” was held in Ban Nupo Temporary Shelter, Umphang District, Tak Province. There were 50 youth of 27 females and 23 males attending this training.

   COERR realized that all parties should face and try to reduce the impact of drugs on community as much as possible, and focus on the children and youth’s participation in say no to drugs.
